IBHL 2022

STAY TUNED FOR UPCOMING INFO FOR THE 2022 SEASON

As we have just found out from the Town of Caledon, regrettably we will not be having a season for 2021. There are still too many variables (such as team size, players on the floor, etc..) and unknowns (Town safety measures, arena social distancing, change room occupancy, etc..) for us to comfortably run the season and keep everyone safe.

We will resume in 2022 and are in the beginning phase of the 2022 season planning, we are awaiting guidelines from the Town of Caledon on policies and protocols that we will need to have in place for the next season.  We appreciate your support and look forward to 2022.

All sponsorships paid will be carried over for the new season and continued on from there.

Thank you for your understanding.

We hope that all of you stay safe and your families are well.  Stay tuned to the website (www.ibhl.ca) and social media for more updates as we build towards the 2022 season.

Take care, stay safe, and see you in the spring!

LEAGUE HISTORY

The IBHL started (unofficially) in 1986 as a pick up hockey league run by brothers Brian and Robert Dunn.  Ten years later (after the 1996 season, before the 1997 season) the IBHL transformed into a league when Brian Dunn and Andrew Tiessen went to a Leaf game and had a brain wave, Why not make this a league with referees, score keepers, actual teams and prizes?   The league has gone strong since that night. Some years the league has grown from 6 to 8 teams, though, for the majority it has been with 6 until the late 2000's where the legaue as seen growth from 6 to 8 to 10 to 12 to 14 teams for the 2010 season and back to 10 for 2011, and has been fairly consistent with 8 teams since then.  In 2015 the league went co-ed and we have had a blast ever since.
