IBHL Finals are set as the Semi-Finals have 2 great games to decide who is going for the IBHL trophy.

August 15th

Adcro Group Ltd               3
Caledon Hills Cycling       1
In the first game of the semi-finals Caledon Hills Cycling took on Adcro Group Ltd and it was a game of chess throughout the match. Caledon Hills got on the board early in the 1st frame when Jason Oreskovic from Seamus McGee found the back of the twine tent just 24 seconds into the game. The rest of the period neither team was able to get anything past Robert Legge (Caledon Hills) or Johnathan Crocetti (Adcro). Period 2 saw much of the same as it ended with same score as the first 1-0 for Caledon Hills. The third period still had both teams searching for that elusive marker when just under 4 minutes into the frame Fraser Neal from Alex Della Mora tied it up for Adcro. Both teams then settled in and kept coming and playing hard with the goalies at both ends of the rink playing their best games of the year to keep things all even. With just under 3 minutes left in the third period Dave Phillips knocked a loose ball into the net to give Adcro the lead. Caledon Hills then put in a concerted effort to tie things back up but Adcro tightened up their defense and were able net a 3rd goal with just over a minute left with Chris Peters from Vince Figliomeni to give the Adcro aces a 3-1 lead, where the game would end.

Foot Clinic & Orthotics   3
Riverdale Fitness Mill      1
In a game with the youngest teams in the 2023 IBHL season facing off for the second semi-final, it had the earmark of a terrific game. Cooper Bertrand from Owen Sclisszi opened the scoring in under a minute in to the first frame for the Foot Clinic & Orthotics crew. It would remain that way for the remainder of the 1st with Christian Rasmussen (Foot Clinic) and call up keeper Kyle Downey (Riverdale) turning away all shots and setting the pace. Both teams flew up and down the floor with great offence and defense to keep things tight. David Provenzano from Owen Adams & Troy Smith were able to light the lamp in under 30 seconds into the 2nd period to give Riverdale Fitness the tie. Again, both keepers kept their respective teams in the game until Cooper Bertrand from Owen Sclisszi put the Foot fellows in the lead on the powerplay. Both teams then buckled down and the defense stepped it up and didn’t allow many shots or any goals until Hayden Heinrich from Andrew Muir added one into the empty net with less than a minute left to seal the deal and give Foot Clinic a berth in the finals.
